Workshop categories

1. General Workshops:

These are generally 1, 2 or 3-day workshops where the Convene team presents participants with information about Free-and-Open-Source-Software (FOSS) is and what simple tools are available to them. We place emphasis on the software alternatives to proprietary software that participants are already using. We also provide information on migrating to FOSS, and installation procedures.

2. Conferences

Our conferences focus on sharing information rather than simply teaching participants about FOSS. We encourage and solicit active participation from the organisation representatives that attend. Our flagship conference is tech4change where we engage with social innovators across South Asia to explore the challenges faced working in the social development sector. We seek to support one another through sharing of information and ideas to bring our goals to a realisable state.

3. Custom Workshops

These workshops are on request. Organizations that have previously attended one of our workshops or conferences and would like to deploy Free-and-Open-Source technologies in their workplaces.

• Alternatives to MS Office and Outlook.
• Rich media: Video, audio and photo editing software
