People’s Watch, headquartered in Madurai, Tamil Nadu is a human rights organization actively involved in the protection and promotion of human rights in Tamil Nadu since 1995. Programmatically, People’s Watch has been involved in Human Rights Monitoring, Human Rights Intervention, Human Rights Campaigns, Tsunami Legal Action and Human Rights Education. People's Watch is a partner of UNDP for its Strengthened Access to Justice initiatives in India (SAJI). For strengthening access to justice information, People's Watch is developing a comprehensive web directory that offers a one click access to information about all formal justice institutions in the country. (Institutions include courts, prisons, police, legal services, bar associations, rehabilitation shelters, homes, NGOs offering legal aid and human rights services, hospitals, etc.)
