Welcome to Convene
Formerly known as NGO-in-a-box
Convene is where social development innovators come together to learn from one another, apply knowledge, share through mutual support, & transform themselves and the world.
Online, members can develop their ideas and projects through a supportive and collaborative network of peers. Informal learning and local adaptation of initiatives are the focus.
On-the-ground, through international workshops, Convene educates social groups, teachers, students, human rights bodies and civil rights groups about the value of Free/Open Source Software. Convene provides technical service providers and support staff with knowledge about software selection and access to such software and related
documentation.
The workshops help organisations grow, save costs, and contribute to the open movement in social development.
Promoting the use of Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) to meet tech-based needs of social development organisations.
Organisations have little time for searching for and testing new software, their mandates require their full attentions. Considering the large amount of Free/Open Source Software available, it can be difficult for organisations to know where to start. We'd like to help non-profits get started using FOSS for their purposes.
